Does this tell me how much I will get?

No. It shows which Home Renovation Savings pathways your answers point at, and the rates and maximums the program itself publishes for them. The amount any household actually receives is decided by the program administrators against their own rules.

Can Aviva approve a rebate?

No. The program is delivered by Save on Energy and Enbridge Gas with support from the Ontario government. We do not administer it, do not decide eligibility, and cannot reserve or guarantee funds.

Why does my heat pump amount change with how the home is heated?

Because the program sets it that way. It publishes one set of amounts for Enbridge Gas customers who heat with natural gas, a higher set for homes on the Ontario electricity grid heated by electricity, oil, propane, or wood, and a separate set for rented equipment. Our results follow those three branches rather than quoting a single headline figure.

Why does Cornwall Electric change the answer?

The program states that Cornwall Electric customers are connected to the Hydro-Québec electricity grid. On the heat-pump pathway they are not eligible unless the home is primarily heated by Enbridge natural gas, and the smart thermostat and solar and storage pages state they are not eligible. The assessment stream states an exception for homes converting to or from Enbridge natural gas. Confirm your own address with the program.

Why does it matter whether work has already started?

Pre-approval is mandatory for heat pumps and for solar and storage: the program states installations done before approval are not eligible. Heat-pump water heaters sit in the assessment stream, which requires an initial home energy assessment before any work begins. If work starts first, those rebates can be lost.
